The Entry looks like a virtual round entryway and has a huge screen and cameras, on account of which live pictures can be communicated between the two urban communities using the Web.

Introduced on 26 May at Vilnius Train Station Square, the venture has been five years taking shape.
The PORTAL, according to its organizers, is meant to be a visual bridge and new-wave community accelerator that encourages people of different cultures to rethink what it means to be one.
Mankind is confronting many possibly dangerous difficulties; whether it's polarization in society, climate change, or economic problems. Nonetheless, in the event that we look carefully, it's anything but an absence of splendid researchers, activists, pioneers, information, or innovation causing these difficulties. It's tribalism, an absence of sympathy and a thin view of the world, which is many times restricted to our public lines," says Benediktas Gylys, Leader of the Benediktas Gylys Establishment and initiator of the Entryway thought.

" That is the reason we've chosen to rejuvenate the Entrance thought - a scaffold brings together and a challenge to transcend biases and conflicts that have a place with the past. It is an invitation to transcend the illusion of us and them. Engineers from the VILNIUS TECH inventiveness and development focus Link Menų fabrikas assembled the Entryway. They picked a circle, a notable and perceived science fiction image, for the visual 'span'. Looking like the wheel of time, the Entrance permits an individual to travel and experience reality on the opposite side of this extension. The form, minimal design, and aesthetics of the PORTAL also help shape the image of a future city, according to its creators. The Entry was a great and energizing venture all along. From the underlying plan to the formation of an intelligent extension interfacing urban communities, it was a mind boggling task that expected explicit information and innovations.

From plan and 3D displaying to computerized content turn of events and calculated difficulties - a task like this requires a wide and multifunctional group,
" says Adas Meskenas, head of LinkMenų fabrikas " Significant undertakings like this one are conceived when different individuals prevail with regards to cooperating and accomplishing synchronicity. this is yet another illustration of the power of community.
Additionally, the PORTAL is not a one-time endeavor.

Shortly, the organizers intend to use dozens of PORTALS throughout Europe and the rest of the world to further connect the world. The point is to draw in networks and urge public development to embrace social tests, startling responses, as well as the solidarity of various societies and their kin over the long haul.

The Crossroads Centre for Intercultural Creative Initiatives, the City of Vilnius, the City of Lublin, and the Benediktas Gylys Foundation, all collaborated on the international project that led to the creation of the PORTAL.
